Data-center developer Equinix is planning an 6 million data center in west Dallas. The company is planning to construct a four-story, 372,517-square-foot data center at 1550 W. Mockingbird Lane. Construction is set to begin in February 2026 and is estimated to finish in October 2027. Dubbed DA12, the project is slated to be the ninth data center across Dallas-Fort Worth.

Besides the filing for DA12, The Dallas Business Journal reports an additional $293 million is to go toward the project. The added cost will focus on fixtures — like doors, lightings, ceilings, partitions — of the first and second floors. The 158,293-square-foot interior project is estimated to begin in September 2027 and is scheduled to be completed in March 2028.

Equinix provides colocation services. External companies can lease space within an Equinix data center and house their own computing equipment, while Equinix provides the power, cooling, network connectivity and security to operate the hardware.
